Sarah Hirniak

Instructor

Sarah grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, and started her life as a dancer at the young age of 3. She started competing at age 5 and trained in several disciplines including jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, musical theatre, tap, and hip hop. Sarah also completed her Advanced I Cecchetti Ballet examination standing.

After high school graduation she attended one year at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Science.

Feeling a need for a change in lifestyle, Sarah moved to Vancouver where she was accepted into the Intensive Training Program at Harbor Dance Centre. She graduated June 2015 from the program in which she trained for 25 hours a week in contemporary, ballet, hip hop, street jazz, broadway and tap. This experience opened up many opportunities for personal growth and discovery and Sarah is thankful for the experience.

Sarah is moving back to Edmonton to return to school at the University of Alberta, this time in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation, working towards a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.

This will be her first year teaching with Marr Mac and she’s excited to continue her life in dance in a new way which allows her to share what she’s learned in her dance journey so far.
